The Hudson Business Coalition (HBCi) welcomed members of the local business community to its June Business After Hours networking event at Hudson Hall, the historic Hudson Opera House, located in the heart of downtown Hudson.
The evening brought together business owners, nonprofit leaders, and community members for an engaging program titled “A Conversation on Creative Placemaking, Community Investment, and the Arts.” Hosted by Hudson Hall, the event highlighted the important role that arts and culture play in strengthening local economies and creating vibrant communities.
Guests enjoyed an evening of music, conversation, and a special preview of the 2026 Hudson Jazz Festival. The program featured remarks from Cat Henry, curator of the Hudson Jazz Festival; Corey Aldrich of the Upstate Alliance for the Creative Economy; and a special performance by GRAMMY Award-winning pianist Orrin Evans.
The discussion explored how creative placemaking and cultural investments contribute to economic development, tourism, and community engagement throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond.
Attendees also enjoyed wine generously provided by Neverstill Wines and a beautifully curated charcuterie display from Swoon Kitchenbar, helping create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for networking and conversation.
“We are grateful to Hudson Hall for hosting this month’s Business After Hours and for creating such a meaningful program for our business community,” said William Blowers, President of the Hudson Business Coalition. “The arts are an essential part of Hudson’s identity and economic vitality, and it was inspiring to hear from leaders who are helping shape the future of our creative economy. We also thank Neverstill Wines and Swoon Kitchenbar for helping make the evening such a special experience for our guests.”
Business After Hours is a monthly networking series hosted by the Hudson Business Coalition, providing opportunities for local businesses and organizations to connect, collaborate, and learn about initiatives impacting the Hudson community.
The Coalition plans to continue its Business After Hours series in August, at the Henry Hudson River Front, date expected soon. Through these gatherings, HBCi continues its mission of supporting local businesses, encouraging collaboration, and fostering a vibrant and connected Hudson business community.
